New P-Square: Alingo

New dance record from Ghanaian pop duo P-Square. Kinda on the fence on this one – I like and appreciate the electro-dance direction, but I would love it if they went with more of an experimental vibe on the lines of the Man Recordings sound, or what the Akwaaba label does with their remix competitions.

I also have a feeling that a crew like South Rakkas Crew would KILL IT on the remix of this track. No shade or hate on P-Square, love their stuff, just thinking of what could be….

New Beats From Anbuley – “OLEEE”

Anbuley - Oleee

Okay, this is a very fresh banger from Ghanaian-Viennese singer Anbuley, who you might remember from a few Man Recordings releases from a few years ago with Beats on Beats and Ku Bo (this and this).

This is a new EP, produced by Tipanic, and Oleee is the first cut. I am feeling it, and it’s going in the regular #SWENKA rotation. Loving the style of the video – bright, progressive, awesome!

E.L. – Kaalu (Azonto/Afrobeats)

E.L. can pretty much do no wrong right now. Kaalu is his new song, and I love the minimal 8 bar style production on the beat. The little 808 “klang”s are pretty great, and EL come correct with the lyric.

“You don’t really wanna go there!”

P-Square “Chop My Money” – Official Video

This was a BIG tune from this past weekend’s (first) edition of SWENKA! I am not usually the biggest fan of Akon, but he hopped on the remix of P-Square’s hit, and definately added some dope flavour to it. All in all, this is some pretty good west african dance pop, grab it on itunes or amazon.

I gotta say, It was cool seeing the crowd making a “chop” motion along to the chorus of the song #jussayin.
