Untitled from Deadly People on Vimeo.

Honest to god, this is a great music video/Live PA of BSS. This shit is so dope, i cannot wait for that album to come out. And let it be known that yes, alot of their props are going to come from the post-MIA hipster fan base (not hatin’. just sayin’) I have been waiting for sounds like this all my life. it’s that intersection of african riddims, reggae and dancehall, rap decendancy and techno that, well, I grew up with. Anyway much love for BSS, and their album drops in Mid November.

Grits, Shrimp, and stirfried okra….Delicious. I broiled the shrimp with cajun blackening seasoning.

Ok. it wasn’t totally perfect, but it was still really tasty!

Tony Allen - Lagos No Shaking, so delicios stuff

It paired perfectly with a little Tony Allen – Lagos No Shaking! Released on the Honest Jon label, this album was some excellend, raw, fusion funk afrobeat. truly fierce and funky stuff. I highly recommend!

OBEY! in DC

Seen at the corner of 7th and H streets NW, washington DC. I’m suprised, in such a heaviliy trafficed (and seemingly policed area) Somebody could get this up in such a prominent spot. Anyway, awesome public (and political) art statement:

Wire – Three Girl Rhumba

Three Girl Rhumba (2006 Digital Remaster) – Wire

The Wire track intro reminds me of the intro to Elastica’s “Connected”.
