This Morning….

…chilling to some Jamie Lidell off his Jim album. With all the hipster-riffic blue eyed soul (yeah, he’s loved by the hipster folk too, I know) his past two albums have been dope, and his previous work on Warp has been awesome, so funk it. Plus he did a great show at the 9:30 Club, so more props to him.

What would we do….

Wiley Kat’s new single. You’ve heard it already, commence bouncing……now.

Now, here’s doing the live PA. I got love for Wiley, but he seems kinda burnt out here. Still holds it down though….

Wow…dark, slinky, creepy and sexy. Visually, I love the visual editing that makes her eyes, mouth and features take on these crazy expressions.

Corporate Cannibals, man it does not get crazier than that!  She has a new album called Hurricane coming out in August ‘08, I’l be there to cop it.

This is why DC is one of the greatest city on earth…

Free museums, like the Reynold Center (The American Art Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery)

Free Wi-Fi

Power outlets and a great place to sit indoors

Now if I could only do something about these tourists…..

Now I need to a tough portable HDD to take artwork and samples on the road, and I’ll be off and running.

Anyway, I want to big up the DMERIT crew (Micah Vellian, Outputmessage, Triobelisk) on their new website All Our Noise. Great layout, great writing, great articles about the creative independent music scene and artists in DC.

My artist recommendation to check out: Danny Byrd. Great drum and bass producer, signed to Hospital Recordings. Check out his myspace page for one of his lead-off tracks from the album “Weird Science”.
